Carrie Arii

After being born in Indiana Carrie’s family moved to a small town in northern lower Michigan and spent all of her growing up years there. Her parents dropped her and her sister off at the Lutheran Church Sunday School where an excellent Bible foundation was laid. One summer day, however, as she was playing Sunday School with her best friend she realized that Jesus was not her personal savior. Right then she prayed and gave her life to Christ at age 9.

After high school Carrie attended Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music for 3 years and received a certificate in Christian Education. It had always been a dream for Carrie to attend nursing school and she was amazed how God put finances and logistics together for her to be able to graduate from Biola College (now University) with a BSN.

By this time she had met her future husband, Bob so after graduation she moved to San Diego to work at Children’s Hospital of San Diego (now Rady Children’s Hospital) which was another dream come true. God provided so many opportunities to serve him through the children and families there. She and Bob married and raised two wonderful boys.

For many years after college there were many opportunities to serve the Lord in children’s ministry. As her children grew to adults Carrie was given the opportunity to step into a leadership role in women’s ministry leading Bible studies and planning retreats. After the children were out of the nest Bob and Carrie were led to a Wesleyan Church that was closer to their home in Santee. Under the leadership of a wonderful woman of God she became an assistant and eventually the woman’s ministry leader when she retired. There was a change of leadership at the church and once again God seemed to be pulling Bob and Carrie to another place to serve. That brings us to today. God has given Carrie a vision to guide the women of Grace Fellowship into a deeper relationship with our savior and each other through application of Scripture as well as life together.
